Are Gated Communities Really Safer?

Gated communities have walls, locked gates, and surveillance cameras that deter would be criminals from trying and going in the direction of something that is easier.

As a 20-year security veteran has once said, “I am of the opinion that gated communities not only provide a solid physical barrier, but also act as a psychological deterrent for would-be criminals.”

Since the gated community has it’s own road system¬†that is not on the easy route of public access this makes it that much more secure.

Residents of gated securities are screened before being allowed to live within them. This provides that only law-abiding citizens live there and some gated communities screen visitors as well.

Other advantages of living in a gated community are…

  • Stricter community rules and codes
  • Decreased traffic
  • Decreased number of unwanted solicitors.
